The Community Aviary is located at the Market Place. Talk to, laugh with, and be entertained by talking birds from around the world. Over 100 birds interacting together with each other and you. You will have plenty of opportunities to converse with these gorgeous birds, including Mango, an Australian bare-eyed cockatoo, Yoki, a sulphur crested cockatoo, and Olive, a severe macaw.
While chatting with Tango, Rio, Pancho, and other residents of the avian habitat, visitors will notice four huge boma columns. Boma is an African Swahili word for a barrier made of branches and sticks designed to keep lions and other predators from killing domestic livestock. In the aviary, the boma columns are designed to be both housing and chew toys combined.
The Serengeti Safari Tour starts from the Market Place. Shuttles to the Wildlife Preserve, Tiger Splash Arena and Critter Court all depart from the Market Place.
Also located at the Market Place is Out of Africa’s Wildlife Gift Shop complete with one of a kind gifts and souvenirs including hand painted Ostrich Eggs, African carved giraffes, wildlife cards, stuffed animals and unique home decor. There is something for everyone, including a gift for that hard to buy for relative or friend!
The kids will love the playground near the Serengeti Safari Tour departure depot. The Serengeti Safari Tour location is shaded with seating areas for your comfort and is within view of the Community Aviary.
You may want to start with the Serengeti Safari Tour. An experience like no other in Arizona, you can expect a personal encounter with giraffe,
zebra, ostrich and more. The Serengeti Safari is a fully narrated tour by expert guides and you are given treats so that you can feed the animals and maybe even receive a gentle kiss from a giraffe. As you roam through the Serengeti be on the look out, for on nearby hills there are prides of lions and other big cats overlooking their domain, you, and the prey animals! It’s like Africa, only closer! Allow at least 45-minutes for the Serengeti Tour. Tours begin at 9:30 am every day, Wednesday through Sunday. The last tour leaves at 4:00 PM.
Now its time to explore the Wildlife Preserve fully narrated tour on a tram or trolley. Unobstructed photo platforms provide excellent photo opportunities of lions, tigers, wolves, hyena, and other predators that roam in large, natural habitats. It is like seeing them in the wild. You can also walk, at your leisure, among the Preserve’s predator habitats. Tours begin at 9:30 am and run continually throughout the day. On Sunday, Wednesday and Friday, the last tour departs at 2:00 PM. On Thursday and Saturday the last tour leaves at 4:00 PM.
During your day, stop at the Jungle Hut Eatery near the Tiger Splash arena – a great place for lunch or a snack to energize you for the rest of your adventures. Watch the tigers in their habitats while you eat!
Next up is the Giant Snake Show. Wrap-up with the world’s largest species of snakes Anacondas, Pythons and Boas! With the help of a Park caretaker, you will be allowed to touch, pet and even hold some of these wonderful giant reptiles. Great photo opportunities that when shown to your friends will make you the talk of the town! Showtime, 11:30 Wednesday through Sunday at Critter Court in the Wildlife Preserve.
The Tiger Splash Show is back! The most popular show at Out of Africa Wildlife Park is set in a beautiful outdoor arena where every seat has a great view. Watch magnificent tigers and other big cats interact in a predator/prey relationship of romping and splashing in a 35-foot by 50-foot pool as they play with their caretakers and various colorful toys. Discover how instincts, intellect and feelings interact to form spontaneous, natural behavior. Catch the shuttle from the marketplace or if you are already in the Wildlife Preserve go to the Tiger Splash Arena. Showtime is 1:15 on Wednesday through Sunday at the Tiger Splash Arena.
If you are visiting the Park on a Wednesday, Friday or Sunday you’re in for another experience of a lifetime – the Predator Feed Show! The Predator Feed Show starts at 3 pm in the Wildlife Preserve. On Predator Feed days, the last Wildlife Preserve Tour departs at 2 pm.
